Improving International Climate Policy: Lessons from Japan's Joint Crediting Mechanism

Project Lead: Janelle Knox-Hayes

Project Description: The long term goal of this project is to translate findings from a recent academic book ("The Cultures of Markets: the politcal economy of climate governance") to inform the development of Japan's Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) which is being used to transfer Japanese technology, as well as emissions pricing techniques across south east Asia.  The first stage of this project will be to create a policy brief based on the book and use it to develop relationships with appropriate stakeholders in Japan.

IPL Support: Providing contacts and introductions, reviewing outreach material, logistical support as needed.
