Faculy Lead: Sasha Costanza-Chock
Project Description: Professor Costanza-Chock recently developed a report entitled #MoreThanCode (see http://morethancode.cc) about best practices in the growing field of public interest technology; for example, in the development and deployment of public facing digital services by government (municipal, state, and federal). The report is based on interviews, focus groups, and data analysis with 188 tech practitioners from across the U.S.A. The research explores the current ecosystem and demographics; practitioner experiences; visions and values; and stories of success and failure; and provides key recommendations for the future of the field. The PL@CIS will work to translate this report into actionable recommendations for policymakers and to connect the PI to relevant policy audiences.
