Faculy Lead: Stuart Madnick
Project Description: Professor Madnick studies the potential cybersecurity impacts on international trade. His research team has worked together with the MIT Internet Policy Research Initiative (IPRI) to document more than 33 cases of international trade restrictions, involving 19 countries, resulting from concerns about cybersecurity. From these studies they have developed a systematic framework to understand the connections between cybersecurity concerns and international trade. His IPL project seeks to engage with policymakers working in this space to turn this framework into tangible policy proposals.
Policy Lab Support: Reviewing policy documents and proposals, providing feedback on framing and language of proposals, identifying contacts in the federal government, preparing for meetings and logistical support
