Translating Research on Urban Informal Settlements into Public Policy for Urban Upgrading

Project Description: Professor Sanyal has worked on urban development policies in developing countries for the last 35 years. His particular research interest is how to integrate informal housing settlements, spatially, economically and politically into larger cities. He has advised international agencies, national governments, and non-governmental organizations in 4 continents. This IPL project focuses on developing policy recommendations for integrating informal settlements in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
